ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
CONDITION REPORTS

EICR’s are rather like an M.O.T for your electrics. We conduct a series of visual inspections, followed by a number of metered test procedures.  The results of which give you an insight into the current condition of the electrical installation as it stands.  Based on these results, we issue a satisfactory or non-satisfactory certificate.

Any defects, or sub standard work that is found has a code applied to it. The most common codes are:

C1 – This means danger is present, risk of injury exists, and remedial action required immediately.

C2 – Potential danger present, remedial action to be taken asap.

C3 – Improvement is recommended for this item. Although not a fail , this could cause issues further down the line, or is not to current regulation.

Intervals for EICR’s are:

  • Private houses every 10 years
  • Rented property every 5 years or change of tenants.
